Meng Mo 「梦魔」 is a dream demon who taught Luo Binghe about the power to control the dreaming world in both Proud Immortal Demon Way and Scum Villains Self-Saving System.
Several hundred years ago, he was a brilliant, famous, and outstanding elder among demons before divine punishment destroyed his physical body. However, his powerful spirit was completely undamaged, and from then on, he became a parasite within others’ dream realms, subsisting by absorbing their spiritual energy and vitality.[2]

He is only able to appear as a ball of black fog in the dreamscape because his primordial spirit was left undamaged. His original appearance seems to be that of an old man who dresses in luxurious clothing and has eyes like those of a hawk.[3]

Meng Mo (Dream Demon) is a minor character mentioned at the start of the novel. Meng Mo is an ancient but powerful demon and one of the demon race's outstanding senior experts. Several hundred years before the existing story's timeline, Meng Mo lost his corporal body in a tribulation.[2]
He lives off other people's dream realms, absorbing spiritual power and refined energy to survive. He took a liking to Luo Binghe, who managed to break through his dream enchantment, and decided to take him on as a disciple, passing on all his lost knowledge.[4] Besides teaching him, he acts as a sort of mentor, sometimes coming up with plans to aid Luo Binghe on occasion.[3]
Meng Mo is Luo Binghe's teacher in demonic cultivation.[4]
Abilities & Equipment[]
He can recreate a city with its many inhabitants on a large scale in his dream realm. He can also use the emotions hidden in people's hearts, especially negative emotions such as terror or rage, and bring them out, causing a breakdown in the victim's psychological defenses. The more a person feels, the greater the damage they receive.[2] It can even kill them.[5]
Furthermore, if a dreamer attacks any 'person' in their dream, it will eventually hurt themselves—all the ‘people’ in the dream were from the dreamer’s own consciousness and heart. Attacking them actually means attacking your own brain.[5][6]
There were many people in the past who didn’t understand this point or couldn’t control their own emotions, and in the dream, they attacked and grievously harmed their own ‘people.’ From then on, they entered eternal sleep. The only way to break the dream was to resolve the tangles in your own heart, and then the dream would defeat itself.[5]
